The Problem/Challenge:

To truly impact children’s lives and reach the bold aspirations of 

• Loving secure family relationships supported by foundational life skills;
• Access to formal and informal family supports;
• Physical and mental health and wellbeing across the lifespan; and
• Financial stability and economic mobility . . . 

PCANC needed to make a big change. Their rebranding and adopting this high-impact theory of change means they had to look at their organization as well as their work and assess how well they are addressing the change that will repair and rebuild a primary prevention ecosystem around our state’s children. 

Our Process:

This is no ordinary strategic plan – this is full-out organizational change. However, we are following some of our standard processes for strategic planning. See our blog series on strategic planning BEGINNING HERE. This work is still in progress.

End Result:

A strategic plan with strong organizational goals that enabled the organization to adapt during COVID by utilizing the board of directors in a governance role and allowing the Executive Director the ability to realize organizational goals and objectives.

Continued Success:

The combination of the strategic plan and the board governance policies enabled the staff leadership to be nimble as COVID emerged in North Carolina.
