Our History

Sprouting From Systems Change

Any examination of the 10-year history of Partners for Impact must start with its founder, Beth Bordeaux. An executive leader with over 30 years of nonprofit and local government experience, Beth had previously worked in both full-time and consulting roles. She recognized a need for consulting around systems change. Many nonprofit organizations and consultants focused on how to change the organization but not how to rethink the systems that prevent meaningful change. Her aim was to partner with organizations, coalitions, and government to create community-wide impact (community change) on everything from homelessness and education to domestic violence and mental health.

Rooted in Partnership

After founding Partners for Impact in 2016, Beth sought a partner in the work. She contacted Stan Holt, an accomplished nonprofit leader who had spent 30 years in development, executive leadership, and grantmaking. Stan is known for building space so each person’s authentic voice can contribute to the group process, an important piece for creating community change. Stan joined Partners for Impact in 2018. Together they expanded the business, adding consultants and staff to meet the growing demand for services.

Growing Into the Future

In 2026, we are celebrating the firm’s 10-year anniversary and our incredible partner organizations. We look forward to continuing to work with nonprofits, foundations, government agencies and coalitions to build the people, processes, and partnerships they need to tackle social challenges effectively.
